For this one, I was trying to get a very “now” feel (at the expense of timelessness). To that end, I used Cobra Starship as a guiding ethos. Which explains the garishness, if not the Midtown quote. (I adore Cobra, to be clear.)

If you don’t know who Lucero is (clicky link), I suggest you go check them out. Go ahead, I’ll wait.

A while ago, a friend had asked for an intro to them. Me being me, I wasn’t content with sending a few songs over, I had to make an entire album. With cover art. And an exhortation to buy at least one if not all of their albums. This doesn’t do the awesomeness of Lucero any kind of justice, but it’s a shot.

(Final note: the font I used for “Whiskey” is Nashville from dafont.com (clicky link), and is very close to the font used for one of my Lucero band shirts.)
